Nicholas Bervinchak videos

Nicholas Bervinchak's artwork is known worldwide. He produced etchings and church murals from the late 1920's through the 1970's in and around Minersville, Pa. He is best known for his social realist depictions of life in the anthracite coal region of Pennsylvania during and shortly after the Great Depression.
The Lemko Ukrainian-American Nicholas Bervinchak began his artistic career as an apprentice to the famous Hungarian church artist Paul Daubner in 1924. This video shows Bervinchak's church mural and decoration work in the now closed St. George Ukrainian Orthodox Church in Minersville, Pa. The work was done in the 1950's.
